The Green Ribbon

Last weekend we had our last horse show of the season. Medal Finals is full of crazy courses and nice prizes. Sadly, it also has tough rules. Each horse and rider only get one warm-up (at about 5:30 am!) and then you must be ready to show over fences the horse has not seen and keep in mind that each round receives a score. The scores are totaled together for the final placings. While this is a little out of the ordinary Rocko was superior. We had a blast doing the handy hunter! There were lots of crazy turns and even a trot fence (no problem that's our specialty). Rocko and I ended up taking 5th out of 39 horses!!! Even cooler than that we received another 77 snatching 6th place in the Callister Cup. Winning 6th place isn't always nice but this show they gave out green ribbons! We don't get to see them very often. I think now I have about 3 green ribbons total out of 10 years showing. So, it was an awesome show. I can't wait until next year.

Much Appreciated Decorations

This week I was able to get some decorations for our apartment. MB gave me a gift card to a home decor store. I love the colors and decorations for fall so it was the perfect time to go. So happily I went off to get some items. I was thrilled to finally have something to put up for the holidays. Here is my meager collection of decorations for Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Horse Show Advice #1

Horse Show Advice #1: Remember Your Clothes! We had a very fun horse show this past weekend. Rocko and I were finally able to get everything together in our last round and score a 77. Since we are doing so well now I can't wait for our next show. But the most entertaining part of the show was Mom's shoes. We left around 6 on Saturday and drove straight to the showgrounds. When we arrive Mom realizes that she left her shoes at home. Well, it seemed like a waste of gas to drive home get the shoes then drive back. So we quickly came up with a plan. I had both my paddock boots and show boots. I gave my paddock boots to Mom and changed into my show boots. We figured that once target opened (in several hours) Mom would just pick up another pair of shoes. So after all this stress and clothing changes we start unloading the car. To our suprise there were the shoes tucked in the back. So all of our efforts had been for nothing!!
