Seaworld

Ben and I recently went to San Diego for a little time off before his busy season. We had a great time and of course did Seaworld, the San Diego Zoo, and the Safari park. Lots of animals this trip. I was not always successful in getting them in my pictures. Really birds and fish just don't care if you trying to get a good photo. We will start with some Shamu photos from his show.

Tulip Festival

A few of my friends and I went down to the Tulip Festival. I don't really know much about tulips but apparently there are quite a few varieties. Here are a few different types that we saw.

Arizona Diamondbacks

Ginger brother and I also caught a Diamondbacks game while we were in a town. Baseball is pretty cool, not on TV it's just boring there, but in real life it's pretty fun. The rules are fairly simple. There's no long time outs or reviews. Actually the only thing I didn't understand was the Diamondbacks mascot. One would think it would be a Rattlesnake but no it was some sort of cat without a tail. I don't know what it was. Well, it was just a training game and the Diamondbacks didn't win. Ginger brother had 3 hot dogs. He also wanted to take a island picture (no smiling just looking tough).

Mesa Temple

I have been out and about traveling recently. Happily I remembered both my camera and my charger so I do have several fun blogs to share. About a month ago I headed to Arizona with my ginger brother. Since he is just back from his mission in New Zealand the first place he wanted to visit was the Mesa Temple. We wandered around for a while.

I love the beautiful fresco of the pioneers around the top. Ginger brother spent most the time checking out the girls there and trying to get close enough to see if they were taken without being creepy. Which didn't work.

Orion

This is Orion. He is my patron constellation. I know...you didn't know people had patron constellations. Patron saints yes but I have a constellation instead. He hangs out in the night sky for most of fall and winter. He was also named after a Greek guy who was killed by a scorpion!! Not the best way to go.

Our arrangement is simple. He makes sure I don't get attacked by any serial killers, zombies, demons, vampires, werewolves or various evil doers while walking to and from my car in the mornings and occasional evenings and I tell everyone what a good job he does. So far it is working out nicely. Some great things about patron constellations. They never complain, they show up every day, and you never have to be bothered with writing them a thank you letter or attending a banquet for them. It's a pretty sweet deal. So I will understand if patron constellations become the next big thing.

When Rocko and I grow up

What I want to be when I grow up.... a full metal jouster!! I don't know why school counselors don't offer this as a career choice. Honestly. The History channel has started a new program all about the sport of jousting. I'll be honest, I don't know much about jousting but it is pretty awesome. Yelling, horses rearing, bashing people. Of course my favorite part is the horses. Those ponies are huge. Rocko and I wouldn't look like much next to them. I am really liking Gulliver and Jefferson two giant 16+ hand horses weighing over 2000 lbs each. Rocko is about the same height but we probably aren't close to their weight class. I talked it over with him and we are planning on retiring to full metal jousting!

Jif

So it has been awhile but I have a couple good blogs coming up. Recently I have become a fan of peanut butter. It's not like I didn't like it before, its just that I have it in my pantry. My new favorite snack is peanut butter. Peanut butter on bread, peanut butter from the jar, peanut butter...actually I can't think of any other ways to eat it. yum...
