What it's like to travel alone at 16

For the past week and a half my mom and I have been at the Scottsdale Horse Show. It was tons of fun and I will have to get some pictures to post. Rocko was a very good boy though at first he was stressed out. This was his first long road trip since he was brought from California. So, I am sure he thought he was being taken back to the concentration camp we saved him from. He relaxed when he realized that it was just a show and that mom and I were both there. There was lots of action all week long with our 6 horses. We had a great show with two champions and one reserve champion from our barn. But the post today really has to do with my lone journey home. On Sunday I had a flight back home by myself. The odd part was other members of our group were also flying home that same day just on different flights. Mom dropped my off at the airport and I used skycap to check in. All of this I have done before but I didn't take into account that I look about 16. Sadly, I didn't help this image by carrying on my Pluto neck-pillow. Every airport worker asked me if I was traveling alone and if I needed help getting to my flight. There was a nice grandma lady who wanted to make sure I got in the right lines. I also got to talk to a very nice Aussie who told me not to be nervous and both Pluto and I should get frequent flier miles. All in all it wasn't that bad. I had all the help I could every ask for and everyone was very nice. I enjoyed the attention and the flight back wasn't too bad. Another lady, who sat next to me on the plane, even got me two plane snacks (they aren't that great but it's the thought I guess). When it finally ended I was just glad to get home to MB who happily picked me up and had even baked me a cake! More posts about the Scottsdale Show to follow!!!
